Got Sleep? A Quick Guide to CBN
While most of us are aware of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD (Cannabidiol), and CBG (Cannabigerol) and their many uses, but there’s yet another cannabinoid that is often overlooked, known as CBN, or Cannabinol.
When THC-A (Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) oxidizes, an extremely powerful psychoactive cannabinoid is created, known as CBN. There is still much to learn about CBN, but it is possible that the compounds that make it up are a result of its effectiveness as a sleep aid. Although there is no concrete evidence, recent studies have shown that CBN, much like CBD, is an effective treatment for muscle and joint pain, anxiety relief, inflammation, arthritis, and Crohn’s disease. CBN’s psychoactive properties have also proven to help treat epilepsy and seizure disorders, making it an effective anticonvulsant.
Although more research must be done on CBN, the demand for this certain cannabinoid has greatly increased recently and we’re likely to see an increase of CBN products on the market in the very near future.
